Prothro Dining HallSPECIAL SERVICESSPECIAL DIETARY NEEDSOur Executive Chef is well educated regarding many dietary needs. Menus are rotated on a four-week cycle to provide the best selection. We encourage all students to let us know if there are any special needs they might have, and always have an open-door policy. We strive for all students to have a good selection of food when dining at Sweet Briar College. As with everything, we stress, "Everything in moderation." The possibility exists that manufacturers may change their formulation without our knowledge. Dining Services will assume no liability for any adverse reactions that may occur in the dining hall. SPECIAL REQUESTSAs part of the orientation process, the executive chef meets with incoming first-year students to discuss their likes and dislikes. This information is instrumental in creating a menu that is nutritionally balanced and pleasing for all. In addition, if a student has special dietary needs or restrictions, they are encouraged to speak with the chef. Students may also use the "comment board" to compliment the staff, opine about a particular dish or request new food items. Dining services also holds bi-monthly food committee meetings, during which representatives from each class can express concerns and make suggestions. For students who have questions about foods and their nutritional value or other dietary concerns, the following Web sites might be helpful: SWEET REMEMBRANCEGive your special someone a gift to show you care! A "Sweet Remembrance" gift package can add to any occasion or brighten a student's day. Let someone special know you are thinking of her and express your love by sending her a "Sweet Remembrance." Each package includes a card appropriate for the occasion with a message from you enclosed. Gifts will be held at the Dining Services Bake Shop, and recipients are notified when a "Sweet Remembrance" is waiting for them.
